The cord on this light is 6' with the transformer near the plug so it can reach the floor. And the 24/7 mode does actually turn off for a few hours.

I have a finnex planted +24/7 (non cc) and really like it but there are some downsides. Like callamalanus said, you cant set an automatic timer for the 24/7 mode. When the timer goes on it will always start at the 6am time and start the day cycle from there. Secondly, it is kinda too much light for a really low tech tank.

However, this tank will be a co2 tank, so I'm unsure if I should not use the 24/7 mode and stick to the highest mode, which made me think would a different cheaper From what I understand, the SE has a few new features.
